So how in the world did you end up on The Hills?
I was approached by FIDM last quarter, they told me about the show and how Lauren went to school here, and that they’d love for me to be her teacher. I was little bit hesitant, but I checked with Bravo and they went gaga, saying ‘of course you can do it! Tell us when it’s on so we can TiVO it!’
What was Lauren like as a student?
The class I taught was called ‘Fundamentals of Sketching.’ She attended the whole quarter, and missed one or two classes. She was pretty good at it. I asked her ‘Have you had any training before?’ and it turned out she had a sort of artistic background. She did seem like she had other things on her mind during class. I could see that she wasn’t all together there. Now I know that she was going through some drama! But at the time I wasn’t going be like, ‘girl so tell me what’s gong on with you and Brody.’ There’s instructor-student bond to keep. But I’ve recently seen her out, and we both act like 14-year-old girls. The wall is down now.
Others are actually coming to the defense of LC, including the woman who was named as the "real" designer, Sherry Roozrak-Wood. She tells us, "I am not the designer of the Lauren Conrad Collection. All of our vendors and staff can verify that all designs and decisions are made by Lauren Conrad."

Lori Berger of CosmoGirl profiled Lauren and states, "I recently spent some time with Lauren Conrad at her factory in Sylmar, California, where she designs the Lauren Conrad Collection. I did this as part of cover story I was working on for the Sept. issue of CosmoGirl magazine. My goal was to show our readers another side of Lauren's 'real' life -- as a working designer -- one they don't get to see during the filming of "The Hills." During the approximately two hours I spent with her, I watched her do a 'final fit' on her resort collection which included everything from altering sleeves, hems and necklines to making changes and adjustments to the overall silhouettes of many of the pieces in the line. Additionally, I photographed Lauren during the entire process -- from trying on each piece -- to measuring, pinning, re-sketching and considering color palettes. My experience observing Lauren as a designer, outside of her daily role on "The Hills," is not only included in my cover profile on her, it introduces the story."

Gerrard Way planning track for superhero movie
My Chemical Romance are planning a "pretty freaking cool" Bob Dylan cover for a film adaptation of Alan Moore's graphic novel 'Watchmen'.
The band's version of 'Desolation Row' will close the superhero movie.
When speaking to MTV News, director Zack Synder explained: "(Gerard Way, MCR frontman) is a super-great guy, and an awesome musician, and so we're trying to work with them right now to put together a song for the end titles."
Synder added: "I've talked with [Way] and I've heard a little bit of some stuff that's he's done and it's pretty freaking cool.”
The band interest in the adaptation, which come out net year, is not purely musical though.
"Honestly, he contacted me," said Synder. "Just as a fan, to say like: 'I hope the movie's cool.' And then we went, 'Hey, maybe we can do something.'."

so i was at mtvlive yesterday. [although i went for brendan canning]. when randomly corey haim comes and walks through the studio. they announced it as the first celebrity walk on.
at first i wasn't sure if it was him, because he was very skinny/emaciated..looking pretty rough. he waved, shook some peoples hands then confetti fell. it all lasted about 30 sec.
i didn't get a picture because it was live.

FirstShowing's live blog of Watchmen's Comic-Con panel
12:01PM - Entertainment Weekly rep takes the stage to introduce Watchmen. Two years ago Zack came to Comic-Con to show footage from 300, today he's here to show us footage from a comic that has often been called unfilmmable. Everyone in the cast makes their debut on stage: Malin Akerman, Billy Crudup, Matthew Goode, Carla Gugino, Jackie Earle Haley, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Patrick Wilson, Dave Gibbons, and Zack Snyder.
12:05PM - Asks Zack Snyder to recap "how we got here." Watchmen has been knocking around Hollywood for a while, a bunch of directors have been attached. He was working in post on 300 and Warner Brothers called and asked him if he would be interested. I said "yea… it seems like a crazy idea, but…" Once they asked him, he felt responsible and even if he said no someone else would've got it made and it didn't turn out, it would've still been his fault, so he thought why not make it his fault anyway. Zack says the cast has been awesome in helping him understand the characters. All discussion has been about what is consistent with the book and so on. In that respect, they've been a "super great" cast.
Zack explains that when people heard there was a teaser they thought it would just be the title and the date, but that they actually decided to put some shots together. That's the history now up until what "he's going to show us."

Disney’s up and coming tween queen Selena Gomez dons a rocker angel chick look during a photo shoot on Wednesday at a beach in Malibu, Calif.
The Wizards of Waverly Place actress, who celebrated her Sweet 16 earlier this week, recently signed her first record deal with Hollywood Records, reports E!. An official announcement should be on the way soon!
Rolling Stone recently outed Selena and Nick Jonas as a couple. As a result, blogs have picked up on frenemie Miley Cyrus and BFF Mandy Jirouex’s paraody of Demi and BFF Demi Lovato from March. (Watch Selena’s video here, Miley’s video here, and the combined version here.)
When Selena and Demi were asked what they thought of Miley & Mandy’s parody back in July, they told Popstar magazine:
Demi: “Um, I don’t…know. Like, I don’t know! Cuz I don’t know them. I was…surprised. I was kinda honored, but in the same way, I don’t know!”
Selena: “Yeah, I don’t really know what happened there… but I was surprised about it.”

Earlier this month we stated that the Girls' Generation / SNSD were chosen by Nexon to be the models for the game Maple Story. Recently some media pictures of SNSD for Maple Story have been released with some subpar results.
They come off (hopefully like SooYoung's clothes if we ever meet) like Sailor Moon rejects at a cosplay convention. In some of the pictures they look cute, but for the most part the pictures were less than stellar.
There's a lot of hate going around these girls, but I've got nothing but love for them... well only the pretty ones like SooYoung and Yuri.

DMX Raps outside courthouse
After pleading not guilty to felony identity theft and felony theft charges in a Phoenix courtroom on Thursday, DMX started rapping for reporters after he left the hearing. Asked for a comment on his latest charges DMX rapped, "If and when you ever fall down, get back up. . . . Stand for something or fall for everything. Wait for the right pitch, you'll miss every swing..." before being pulled away by his attorney.

French police say camouflaged paparazzi who managed to get onto the grounds of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's chateau in southern France on Thursday fought with the Hollywood couple's guards. Both the paparazzi and the Jolie-Pitt's head of security confirmed the confrontation but gave widely different versions of events.

Heather Locklear’s ex-husband Richie Sambora (who struggled with alcoholism) called her daily during her recent four-week stint in rehab for depression and anxiety, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. (The paper claims she also may have been treated for prescription drug issues.)
It is among the revelations a source at the clinic tells the paper.
The source says that Locklear, 46, told the other patients at the Arizona facility that she felt the world was closing in on her before she sought help. The source adds that Locklear felt people expected her “to be perfect, always beautiful.”
During her stay, the source says Locklear “couldn’t have been warmer or more approachable. There was no diva behavior. She was totally genuine, down-to-earth and warm.”
She often enjoyed riding horses. She even told patients that she wanted to make a Western film “so I can better work on my riding skills,” the insider says. At one point during rehab, Locklear was overheard singing and said she’d love to record an album, the source says.
She also kept a daily journal and told other patients that she’s working on a couple of books, including a memoir and “a coffee table-style book about design,” the source says.
In addition to the daily calls from Sambora, her current beau, actor Jack Wagner — whom the source says she could wed “soon” — visited her several times.
But it was her daughter Ava, 10, who “helped Heather get through the program. She knew that little girl was back home waiting for her, and she talked about her constantly.”
The source adds that Locklear has also watched Denise Richards’ reality show.
“Heather thinks the show is a riot,” the source says, “but only because it makes Denise look like an idiot.”

James McAvoy will reportedly pick up £12million to star in two sequels to this summer’s blockbuster film Wanted.
Hollywood bosses have given the go-ahead to the action thrillers in which Scottish McAvoy, 29, plays office nerd-turned-assassin Wesley Gibson.
A studio insider said: “It’ll be the biggest payday of his career. There’s no way they could do the sequels without him.”
Angelina Jolie will also feature in the sequels, reprising her role as hit-woman Fox.
Britney Spears is in the red, and I don’t mean lipstick or anything sexy.
Her Britney Spears Foundation has a deficit — nearly $200,000 to be precise.
The foundation’s Form 900 tax filing has just arrived, and it shows that Spears came up short $195,445 for the year 2006.
Total revenue was $148,614. But total expenses came to $344,063.
Among the expenses were two salaries that each came to a little less than $40,000. One employee is Corina O. Biggar, who’s run Britney’s foundation from her home in Massachusetts. The other is listed as John McMahon, a former New York City cop.
In 2002, according to the Wall Street Journal, McMahon was involved in scandal concerning the Spears fund and the Boston-based Giving Back Fund, the umbrella group managing her donor-advised charity.
According to the Journal, the Giving Back Fund "alleged that the agent for Ms. Spears threatened to move the pop star's charity giving to another firm if the fund manager refused to hire her friend John McMahon, a former New York City police officer. The dispute was concluded with a settlement."
Another $50,000 was listed as a contribution for Britney’s summer camp for kids — although no one seems to know what’s happened to the camp, where it is, or what kids attend it — if any.
Then there’s a big chunk — $214,930 — that’s annotated as miscellaneous grants. Unfortunately, none of those grants is specified. In 2005, the Spears Foundation gave away nearly $600,000 to a variety of arts and AIDS groups and New Orleans relief efforts as well as $30,000 to the Kabbalah Center in Los Angeles.
The 2006 tax return is signed by an accountant in Tennessee. Britney’s older brother Bryan, age 30, signed the return in his role as president on Dec. 1, 2007.
The woman who answered the phone at the Tennessee CPA’s office had no comment and couldn’t answer where Spears’ money had gone or whether the summer camp was still in business.
